During the first session, I will spend an hour collecting relevant medical history and nutrition/feeding background relative to your concerns. I will listen with curiosity and compassion and strive to create a collaborative relationship for our future work. Completing some forms and assessments prior to our first consultation will help to facilitate our time.

Follow-up sessions might focus on my providing information on topics that are new to you or education in areas you may have questions. We can discuss strategies that address the challenges you are facing, and ongoing sessions may focus on adjusting these strategies based on your feedback and progress after you have had some time to experiment on your own.

For your convenience, after our initial session, follow-up sessions can be in person or virtual. Clients are always free to choose the pace and frequency of our sessions based on what feels most helpful and supportive to them.

When working with families, I focus on establishing small, realistic goals with children and their caregivers. With this approach, these small goals can become daily habits that are part of the child’s routine instead of far reached goals that fade in and out of their routine.

Christy Frantz

Registered Dietician

Hi! My name is Christy Frantz. Although I’ve lived overseas and in the Northeast, I am a proud, native Texan. I recently moved to St. Louis in July 2025 with my husband to start our new journey as empty nesters. I received my bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences at Texas A&M University and started practicing pediatric nutrition in 2001 at the Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia (CHOP). It was at CHOP that my passion for working in pediatrics began. In 2003, I shifted my focus to start my own family and spent the next 8 years raising my two wonderful children. Fast forwarding to 2012, I found myself back in the nutrition world of pediatrics, now with a new perspective from my own experiences in motherhood. When working with families, I focus on establishing small, realistic goals with children and their caregivers. With this approach, these small goals can become daily habits that are part of the child’s routine instead of far reached goals that fade in and out of their routine.

I also believe in working with an interdisciplinary team of occupational therapists and/or speech language pathologists to provide in depth guidance for each individual child’s needs. I have experience working in the community with ages birth-18 years in such areas of: Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, chromosome deletions/mutations, cardiovascular cases, tube feeding, numerous GI conditions (GERD, chronic constipation, motility disorders), food aversions, epilepsy, drug exposure in utero, prematurity, failure to thrive, food allergies, and picky eating. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and pets. I have a love for travel, within the country and abroad, always aiming for views of a mountain.
